I just realized why it seemed a bit off to me, the lights are chrome still !
Paint the housings black and it would set them off nicely as i was thinking the bug eye thing as well.

No way. Making them black only pronounces the bug eye look because all you'll see is the lens. The all chrome looks closest to stock. You walk by this car and most people don't even notice the projectors. ]
Take a look in that VIPCAR I leant you. Lots of projector retrofits but its the ones with the painted housings you notice immediately.

Nope i still like them blacked out on your car.
The ones with the shroud blacked out and halo's look so dope it is to good for words on a non stock car of course . LOL
Still love the cutoff as it is 100% practical and still esthetically pleasing.
