Thanks... Tonight I ordered the #5's and the KYB's off of Amazon. From Carson I ordered the #3 for all four corners (different part #'s for front & rear) & #4 for the front. I had already replaced #4 in the rear when I did my UCA's. There's also a lower spring isolator on the rears that I ordered. Not as cheap as I had hoped. Around $650 including shipping for everything.

My #4's are shot in the front $36 each, thats why I had already replaced them in the rear... # 3's were relatively inexpensive... # 5's were around $40 each so it adds up quick.

I'm concerned about changing the ride quality with the aftermarkets. Which ones would you suggest to keep the OEM ride?

What do you guys think about these? I know they're made for air conversions but would they bolt right up to a standard LS suspension?

I ended up cancelling all the KYB and OEM part orders and bought the complete Arnott Coilovers this morning. I spoke to Arnott and they are a direct replacement / bolt in for either an air conversion or an existing coilover on the LS. They guaranteed me that the car will ride the same as OEM and maintain the original ride height. They carry a lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser...

They were advertised on their web site for $649 but I hunted down a coupon code (74V4-W7D) and got an additional 10% off so the total came to $584 plus shipping.

Good call. I'll probably do the same in a couple months since all those other parts will be need to be replaced too. Thanks for sharing the coupon!

I've been running Arnott UCA's up front for a year and a half or so without any problems. Hopefully these will work out as well. All new components including the springs like you said LiCelsior, so there's no need to compress the old springs onto the new struts. I haven't heard anything negative about Arnott's products, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Toxictv, the coupon code is valid through February 15, 2010. Probably a good chance they'll extend or issue a different code at that point though.

Thanks!

I'll be sure to report back. For all the value that this site gives to all of us, there are so many threads that we never hear back on the final resolution to someone's problem or how things worked out. That drives me a little nuts. If you take a little you need to give a little...

Is that for all four? 584 for all four? Did they accept returning your non air suspension for the core? That is a good deal

Yes, all four! I didn't even ask about return credit on the non-air components. The value for them is in the old air components, they rebuild them and resell them for 300 a pop.

I haven't received them yet. Ordered on the 22nd with standard ground shipping that takes 3-5 days. With the holiday and all, I probably won't see them till the middle of next week is my guess.

I also spoke with Adam Arnott by email and asked him if they were using KYB GR2's for the coilovers. He stated that the KYB's were a little firmer than OEM, so they build their own shocks from scratch. He said they copied the exact valving and quality from the OEM. The shocks are both oil and pressurized nitrogen filled.

I'll post up the results after the install. Most likely next weekend at the earliest.

Thanks
