Default Fun Day at the Yard :)

So after a fun morning of packing up Christmas stuff i told my wife that i was heading to the junkyard.

I had a list in mind of what i wanted but when i got there i was super excited by what i found.

1991 LS400 Silver with Grey interior. Sticker on the back "Nor-Cal"

The cool part is this may have been an old CL'er. It obviously doesnt have wheels but you could tell that they were big shoes as they wore on the inside of the wheel well.

It had red springs which i am assuming they were Tanabes.

Drilled and slotted rotors, all four.

Clear front bumper lens.

Nakamichi brand premium sound system, i think it works,

Trunk mounted 6 disc CD changer,

My list completed today;

Hood struts x2, $ 10 each, = $20
Horns, got rid of the saucer style Hyundai ones for the snail style Lexus ones. Sounds good (found on another LS, not this one) $9 each x2 = $18
passenger side head light assembly, $29
Key Ignition bulb, Free
passenger reclining switch, free

And my favorite, My wife complains about the seat belt not retracting every time she drives it, $16

Total for the Day = $83

When i got home to do the headlight i found something interesting, the previous owner did the LexLs fog light Clear mod. I wanted mine to be yellow so i was able to salvage from the old set.

If you haven't found your local wrecker or haven't gone in a while its always a good time.

Yea, Cash4Clunkers threw a whole bunch of them into my local PickAParts. The only thing is that NONE of them had the Grey leather interior I was looking for. I HATE TAN.

How are the front seat skins on that car up there?

Ya, i hear you the lots seemed to always have tan interiors.

Sorry man, i should have taken a few interior pics as well. It was in decent shape no rips but did have a bit of a rough neglected feel to them.

I was tempted to go back tomorrow.

What part of Cali do you live?

San Diego. I'd grab the skins off those front seats. Did the struts look new off it? Where did you see it?

Yup, more than likely the GR-2s. I'm going to visit my local Pick A Part and see what I can find.
