you have 3 options now:

1-buy full arm set, minimal downtime as you take out the old ones and swap in the new.
cost: ~$230-235. 1day downtime.

2-buy polyurethane bushings only. 2-3 day downtime as most shops will need some time to get the new bushings pressed in. cons: slightly stiffer ride, possibility of squeaking when cold.
cost: ~$55-65 + cost of getting them pushed in. possible 2-3day downtime.


3-buy OEM Rubber bushings if available.. 2-3 day downtime as most shops will need some time to get the new bushings pressed in. cons: downtime due to getting the new bushings in, and afaik only one confirmed report of them existing/being available.
cost: ~$75-95 + cost of getting them pushed in. possible 2-3day downtime.

Can anyone chime in and update this thread? I have a press and can press the old bushings out and new one's in. Is the lexus part number the whole bushing? I think i'm in need of doing this.

did a little bit of leg work on this today. Called my local Lexus dealership and asked if the part number listed earlier in the thread was an accurate part number. As the parts manager was searching she asked what vehicle it was for and i told her. She then said you might as well get the arm since the bushings go out pretty often in the arms and as far as she knew, they could never press the old bushing out and press the new one in without damaging the "cushion" as she called it. I said to just check the number..... she said, hmmmmm it is a part number and it says it is available.

So, i ordered two of them. She said if they come in and are not the bushing, but the sleeve only, i will not have to pay for them. They should be in earlier next week. I will report back if it is in fact the entire bushing.

here they are! Im excited as it is the entire bushing, or "Cushion" as lexus calls it.

I negotiated mine to $50/each. I think they were somewhat impressed that i actually had a functioning part number on a part they thought was made of unobtanium.

i think i have lucked out! On my toyota land cruiser, as you lift it, the front leading arms and the bushings in them don't keep proper caster alignment. So, there are several bushings with offset sleeves in them to correct caster. This means that you have to press the old bushing out and new ones into the arms.

I had a hunch that they were the same diameter.... and i think they are.

I have a press tool that is offered up by www.sleeoffroad.com to press bushing in and out of cruisers. I think it will fit these bushings.

had some time today to work on the car.

I will admit it took me a little longer than i expected, but, i did get it done.

For me i found it necessary to remove the shock, so i could in turn remove the shock absorber bracket. There is no way to get the arm out without removing the bracket.

The press tool i had worked perfect as pictured! Sorry it's a phone picture. It took every bit of my 12 ton press to get the bushing out.

It drives sooooo much tighter and straighter than before. I'm very glad i was able to do this. Also, for this moment, my clunking sound going over bumps or pulling into driveways is gone.
