Because there are one or more mounting screws/bolts behind it, that hold the headlight on the car. You can't atach/detach them when you have it all made of one piece

Exclamation Check this out!

Here is a nice set on ebay that shows a pair of one piece clear headlights + a pair of clear bumper lenses for the 95-97 LS. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS...Q5fAccessories

i really hope you dont put those cheapass chrome wheels on your car, completley ruin it in my opinion. that being said, you need to buy HIGH DISK wheels (aka wheels made to clear a big brake kit) otherwise you run the risk of having to use a spacer (generally 15mm) to clear.

tire size is dependent on the width wheel you have, if you're really low (you wont be unless your shocks are REALLY REALLY OLD causing the tanabes to lower your car more than 2") the 245/35-20 will rub on the inner fender liner, and maybe the outer fender depending on width/offset. if you wish, you can run a 225/35-20 with no ill effects provided it is rated to the proper weight.

soo how will 19in 2007 highlander rims (7.5) WILL fit on my 1996 ls400

Black on black - nicely done. I think once lowered you will like it much more. I have 18's and with the drop it looks good - BUT always regret not going with even 19's.

Don't really like the Ebay clear setup - looks sort of like an Avalon IMO.

Optimally, you'll want a rim width from 8-9" wide with a low profile tire appropriate for the car, 235-255. In addition, these may not clear the brake caliper. You'll have to try first. I'd say

Default ls400 w/tanabe 2" drop on 20's rubber band tires

i put tanabe springs on my LS with 2" drop and i just purchased some 225/30/20 and the car looks slammed on 20's rubber band tires... the ride is not badd...i still watch out for holes on the freeway however 1 hole and my rim is bent and gone! i hope this helps i would post pics but the rims i just bought are black with a chrome lip and so i decided to paint my car and do a color swap from brown to black so my car is currently in pieces but as soon as its all back together it will look real nice. also swapped all the lights all around the car for clear ones. headlights/bumper turn signals/ and the tail lights.
