Those wheels are too small!!!!...jees your gonna bend/pop wheels like crazy with that setup...Get thicker tires and your dropped look should look better.

225 / 40 / 18

I orignally asked if it was the tyre size causeing the big arch gap effect but didn't really get a deffinative answer?

oh yeah, you should be running at LEAST a 245/40-18. also, its not time, but rather the amount you DRIVE that determines how long it takes for the suspension to settle. can range from 2weeks to 2 months.

gap betwen tire and fender is because your tires are too small. for that height, i'd go with a 275 40 18 rear and 235 45 18 front.

Dude, way too small. On my previous LS I was running 245/40/18 all around and it looked like this when I had it sitting high.

Well this is good to know that it might be as easy a fix as changing the tyres over!

I'm currently running a 8j front, a 245 will be too wide for this won't it? Its 9.5j on the rear so 245 should be OK as long as I'm not going to have issues with arch clearence?

245 front 275 rear with your offsets shouldnt be a problem.

The tread has to be covered by the arch.... not sure if that the same law over there? But I would deffinately have problems with that with a 275 on the rear!

they don't make a big deal about that here. in that case, try a 265 in the rear. the 245s will be fine on the fronts.
