ok guys attached is the image of the work order.
If you wouldn't mind take a crack at it i would appriciate it and let me know what you think

image of work order attached.

I have also read this somewhere. Not sure if that is true or not??
Did anyone actually had their timing belt break ?

Quote:" I think I've read of someone having their water pump bearing seize which broke the belt.
I haven't heard of the belt itself breaking though.I've read about a guy in the US who had his original belt changed at just under 200k and said it still looked like new"

According to that work order the t-belt wasn't changed. Everything in the bottom left is just recomended to be done. I've seen a lot of work orders and that one is pretty bad. It looks like a 5 year old wrote it out. Your other post shows that it was replaced at 95542. I would think that it is still good with the mileage you have but you should check it anyway. Idk what the belt molding is.

How you came to the conclusion that it was replaced?
The way i understand lexus "service history" is that it states:
"Dealer Reported 10/19/1999 Woodfield Lexus 95542 0105225
REPLACE TIMING BELT,WATERPUMP, & FRONT CRANK SEAL."

Isn't that a recommendation/suggestion on replacing it instead of being replaced in past tense like for example this record:
"Dealer Reported 10/30/1998 Lexus of Naperville 94380 0069114 REPLACED COOLANT RESERVOIR AT THI"

To me one is a recommendation and one is work done. I don't know anything about work orders tho. So does the replace means it was done and not a suggestion of replacement. Sort of you need to replace that when customer came for service, but he might have not done it although it was suggested.
Here is rest of work done as comparison.

I think it is just the way different people write out a work order. I would suggest calling Woodfeild Lexus and ask them. I'm sure it is in their records. Imo if it wasn't changed it would say "suggested but customer refused service". Is your crank seal leaking? If not then they did change that and I would think the t-belt and WP at the same time. If they suggested changing the crank seal 10 years ago and it hasn't been done, then I'd say you're in trouble. Same issue with your power steering pump. Without me seeing the car I can't tell you anything for sure 100%. It looks like the previous owner just used 2 dealers to do all his work. Do you know if they are close? Check with both of them with the VIN # and they should have all records.

What I have found with Repair History reading present tense or past tense is: You bring your car in, Tasks are listed by tech in present tense to be done. If work was done, it's left in database that way, assume it was done. If EXTRA work was discovered by mechanic during inspections, they call you for approval, then enter it in the database as past tense. It could be from way different tech writes it up, enters it in database, present or past tense, but it is usually clear if lexus recommends something but owner refused or it wasnt done, so next dealer can see it still needs to be done.
In other words, what you see is what was paid for.

There is a decal that comes with the timing belt, and most indies and some dealers post it near the radiator with the date/mileage t-belt was changed. Look for it. My dealer says he doesnt post decal because work is entered into the Lexus Repair Database for all Dealers and registered owners and future owners to see.
