Do your phone still works in your LS 400

The one in my LS seemed to work; of course one can't actually verify that by using it since analog cellular service is kaput, but FWIW
I took it out, handset and remote box, but I am not going to toss it out - it is part of the car so I'll hang on to it. With the handset out of there, the added console storage is very nice to have, and removing that heavy remote box saves weight! There were some helpful hints in past posts and elsewhere on the web.

I think I'll take mine out. I could really use that armrest space.

I am removing all my phone components this weekend. After seeing how many components there are in the diagram on page 1 it would be worth the time for the weight loss. And having a useable armrest stash.

l suspect that I have one of the last few working corded center console mounted cell phone handsets still functioning in an LS400 -- part of the same Nokia Cark 91H phone kit that was the heart of the dealer installed Lexus phone system of the LS430 in the 2003 model year.
Back in the 90's when installed in my 1990 LS400, my Nokia phone system was driven by an analog-only Nokia phone. In my 2000 LS400, It is powered by one of the Nokia 6340i GSM digital phones I bought on eBay by the dozen.
I use it every day and it still works great. with voice dialing, handsfree, auto answer and hang-up and automatic mute of the radio. I keep planning to move on to something newer but it's hard to part with something that works so well.

My 96 LS400 still has the car phone and it operates just fine...I just wonder if I couldnt make the phone into a bluetooth handset that could be connected to my cell phone I could then make and recieve calls with it while its connected to my phone while driving. it still turns on and dials, so it works fine, I just need to find a way to connect it to my cell and I'd be in gold. it would be so cool to do so

How hard was it to take out? And where can you get the tray? I'd like to remove mine for more space as well.
