I have redone the interior of my LS with new leather and carpet. My wood looks okay, but has some cracks in it. The cracks extend throughout the polymer coating, which means it needs to be stripped and recoated. I want to refinish it, and I believe know how to do it. However, I am not willing to experiment on my shifter plate. Does anyone have an old shift plate, window switch cover, or ashtray they are willing to donate to my experiment. I am willing to pay the shipping to me, and if it works out, I will return it to sender, shipping paid. Although I can not promise anything.

Very satisfied!! The original leather in the 92 LS is a split leather. What that means is that two seat covers are made from one skin. The leather I put in is a full leather and therefore much thicker, and less prone to wear, puncture and tear. The leather is also more luxurious, approximating the look of a newer car. I guess I will have to take out my digital camera and post some pics. I have been meaning to but have not yet. I will post this weekend. I'm also buying a 98 in the next couple of weeks, and the interior on my 92 is ALMOST as nice as the 98. Except for the wood of course. Which brings me to the beginning of this thread! Anybody have an old piece of wood interior trim??

HeY! Thanks Retro. I kinda like it to. Entire Katzin kit full front and rear leather. $679 Tools $150 ( believe me the only way to do this is with angled hog ring pliers. do no attempt without them) Shipping $50 . Total about $900 and worth every penny. I'm redoing my SC 400 next month. I also sent the shifter cover in to American Stitches and had it recovered for $99. I am still trying to figure out something affordable for the steering wheel. Notice the $7 cover.
I now digress, does anybody have a piece of old Lexus wood trim with cracks in the clear coat? I need it for an experiment.
