95 Stock Upgrade Exhaust

95 Stock Upgrade Exhaust
Has anyone found or tried an OEM type muffler that gives just a bit more sound on the outside and no drone or sound increase on the inside? I'm thinking like, removing the last muffler on each side and using something like a mustang gt exhaust muffler. I would like how the mustang sounds stock for my LS. I want just a bit more sound out of the V8 under the hood but still keep the Lexus quietness on the inside unless I am under WOT. I'm adding the LS430 18's to sporty it up a little and kind of want just a little bit more exhaust note. Does the GS400 or gs430 use a different exhaust system? I haven't noticed a difference but would like a slightly more aggressive note or growl.

I was thinking something like this. Or is there already to many exhaust components in there and this would just sound like stock again?

I might just take a wrench to it one of these weekends and take off the two mufflers and see what it sounds like. Does anyone have a pic or diagram of the exhaust on a 95?

Last week or so while in Newport, a Maserati Quattroporte passed by...that is a nice sounding exhaust. Just enough and not intrusive. The intake was equally nice sounding. Even the JDM cars I've heard in Japan have that growl rather than the whine like the Euro V8's.

I have read all the muffler delete threads. I was asking about adding another muffler back on, that is not a flowmaster or magnaflow. Maybe the muffler delete is what I'm looking for, for sound.

imo doing the muffler delete will make the car sound like a mellow mustang gt. at least thats what i hear from my car lol its not obnoxious but it has a nice sound to it.
just remove the 4 bolts (2 for each side) that the mufflers are connected 2 and move the piping from the muffler over a lil bit (u dont even have 2 take the mufflers off) go turn the car on an c how it sounds

On a 95 there is one clamp per side and the two rubber donuts. Take of the mufflers and judge for yourself. Possibly the easiest mod available. If you like the result you can have the pipes extended to the rear muffler which will reduce sound inside the car even more.

Ok I tried to do the muffler delete last night I got the bracket loose but then couldn't separate the rear section from the rest of the system. Is there a trick to it, I beat on it with a hammer and hooked a tow strap to it and pulled by hand.

Got a local muffler place to heat up the pipe and twist it off for me. Sounds very good. I would call it a little mustang. Not quite as loud as a mustang gt but very similar sound. You can hardly hear it under normal or grandpa driving but when you get on it sounds very good, but still not loud. It sounds like a performance sedan.

I see no need to(magnaflow), it's already bairly audible even after the muffler delete except at WOT. There is just a slight v8 rumble with the windows down. Like I said before it sounds like a performance sedan now, like I think it should sounds from the factory. I'm just adding some 2.25 pipe and tips.
