1992 LS 400 HELP Tail Light Warning stays on R on dash lights up when brakes are hit?

1992 LS 400 HELP Tail Light Warning stays on R on dash lights up when brakes are hit?
I recently bought a LS 400 in perfect condition. Everything was fine until hit the 160k mark? The rear tail light sensor stays lit. 
I did change the bulbs with Sylvania and Wagner Bulbs, didn't work? When you hit the brakes the R on the instrument cluster lights up also a majority of the time the car either downshifts or feels like it goes into overdrive? I have checked the white wire with the black stripe (master ground) in the trunk, it is fine no breaks or cuts? 
The master cylinder and the brake switch have been replaced, no results?
I am at wits end and would appreciate some assistance, Thanks
