I am needing to do this soon as well. I just got a 1992 LS400 and the pads look a bit worn, and the same with the rotor.
I plan on doing a full rotor and pad replacement as per LiCelsior's advice here in the new few weeks, just need to get paid! I will give you some feedback once I have done it if you are still thinking about it Sebass.

My 93 Celsior came with pretty low milage and more or less perfect brakes. For what they are, I think they are quite powerful, I can't imagine needing 4piston brakes on a car that has 250hp, 4 piston brakes are more for fade resistance then overall stopping power. (I've owned 4 supras and have a 4 piston 3000gt)

Great support forum here guys. Lot of info shared here.
Is it fair to conclude that single piston caliper on 90 is insufficient based on what i'm reading here? I had dual piston on my 91 ls and breaking power was still not sufficient so i thought!!! But then again i don't think i used premium pad and fluid probably was old. Don't remember it was change in 7yrs.
I just can't imagine changing fluid will help in any way???
@JimsGX. I had previously 91 ls and calipers were sizing up like you mentioned in your post. Mechanic at the time changed the break rubber hose which i believe resolved the issue. Later issue came back but i wasn't sure if it was same side or other side since other side was untouched. So little scared to change dual piston due the seizing issue i had before, even though i think it was rubber hose causing piston to seize not the pistons itself seizing but you might be right about swelling and lubrication. I simply do not know enough about it besides the fact I wouldn't want to invest in dual pistons and had the issue reoccur on me. I doubt that would happen on new calipers tho, instead of used onces.
@Kansas. Great idea with wheel size. At my next tires change i will change it to 225-60-15. I don't get why you saying it will be harsh. It's only 5 down from 65. It's not like they're low profiles 45's. I also feel that tire size is insufficient stock.
I think i'm going to try to address issue first in two fold.
1. Change break fluid. Can i just pump out 3/4 of fluid from reservoir and replace it with new fluid and do same thing again a week from now therefore changing the entire fluid since it will mix ...right ? Don't want to bleed until next break job.
2. Change pads to Hawks HPS's. Seems like a lot of you like it here. Friend recommended Axxis ULTRA but they're slightly more expensive.
3. So i can use 91-92 dual pistons without any mods on 90 ls right?
Can i also use 91-92 rotors. Were they slightly bigger?
Looks like rockauto has good price on dual piston.

Maybe PD would know if your aftermarket rims will fit with the four piston calipers, but if I were a betting man, I'd say the PO switched to the single piston calipers to get his rims to fit because they wouldn't fit over the four bangers...
