my point being that the guy above probably meant ignition coils when he said coil pack......

its not a miss. if i press the gas easy i can take the car all the way up to redline in neutral and also have had the car up to ~95mph with 4 adults in the car, one of which weighed over 400lbs. plenty of load on the engine. its not a coil. the problem is the vta pin has 1.7v on it when the tps connector is unplugged and i know this is an issue as it is supposed to have 0-1v on the vta wire with the throttle closed at the ecu. because of the 1.7v on the wire it actually measures over 1v. as i recall ti was 1.35v. the ecu isnt measuring the correct voltage at the ecu therefore doesnt know the real throttle position. my theory is when i go over a throttle position that would read over 1.7v is when it bucks. i need a different ecu as im tired of dealing with an incompetent company. im sorry if i come off harsh but i am very frustrated with this car at the moment.

Were you the one that beat me out of a LS400 ecu on ebay last week? If so, imma punch you in the face. I'm glad your problem is solved. I did finally win a bud for a ecu on ebay. It will arrive tomorrow. If it does solve my problems, I will buy a new ECU from Lexus this fall. I dont want anymore problems. My car LS just crossed the 100k mark and I do plan on keeping her for at least 3 more years.

nope, didnt get it from ebay. the ones on ebay cost too much. got it from a junkyard in mass. found it on www.car-part.com. and i wouldnt waste the money on a new ecu. itll prolly cost $2k.

Good news,
Got my ecu in today and my problems are solved.

I had the exact same symptoms as William and I even sent my old ecu to ATE and the problem persisted. There must be another bad circuit in these ecu's that has not been recognised by the "ecu repair " shops.

If new ecu's from LEXUS cost $1500 or less, I'm buying a new one.

Thanks for following up William!

ate isnt a repair shop. they dont "repair" the ecu's. all they do is replace all the caps and hope it works. alot of supra guys do this first when an ecu "goes bad". sometimes it works, others no. its a crap shoot. the caps leak with age and change value. if they change enough, or enough of them change, it can cause running issues. ate charges $100+ to change a bunch of $0.20 caps and ship it back saying its fixed. mine has been done twice, still doesnt work. im trying to find my invoice right now so i can contact them for a refund.
