here's something to consider:
97 was an odd year, it had an immobilizer setup similar to the 98-00, and therefore you will likely need to spend a decent amount in having a new master key setup done.

I am seriously considering making a run for this vehicle. if u could briefly elaborate roughly $$$ are we talking about for a key and who I would have to get it from. Do I have to go thru the dealer with the title and most impotantly how long would I have to wait to get the key. The auction is almost over so having this basic info would definetly assist me with my desicion to pursue or not. Thanks

I almost bought a 97 in mint condition and taken care of at the dealer. All the sevices done at the dealer. New tires and about 125 k on it for 6700. I did not buy because the owner was a smoker and I was afraid I would never get the smell out. This was about 1 year ago

No, the "biggie" is that it was involved in an accident. See the free auto check report....might be minor. Then again...

I would walk away from this one. This guy has only 7 previous sales.

If you decide to buy it, I wouldn't pay more than $4500 US. You can see that the right front hood/fender/headlight don't line up. And there is plenty of paint peeling on the front and rear bumper, and plenty of interior damage to match. That, and it has no key. You'll also have no idea about what kind of maintenance has been done to the car.

Yeah, I saw auto check report, not a concern to me at this point as long as I could get the vehicle for a reasonable price. I once owned an acura legend that was in a major car accident; the car was fixed and never had a problem since. can anyone please tell me how much a key would cost and where I can get it made.

$4500, dude that way too much. I was thinking in the range of maybe $1700--$2500 at best. I just want to know how much $$$$ to get a key made and where.
