Glad to hear no one was killed, seems like he found a fix to the lack of power, alcohol...

Dude, your trunk is gone... Theres a bunch of debree still left around the scene of the accident, but the trunk was nowhere to be found.

The police recreated the scene of the accident, and apparently this is what happened. They didn't hit any ice, rather the driver fell asleep. They entered the ditch at approximately 100mph, went 300 feet inside the ditch, hit a post that sent the car airborne (rear of the car going up). The car slammed into a tree with your trunk (the mark on the tree is over 6ft high, and went flipping on the ground six more times for about 1000 feet all together from the spot where they entered the ditch.

After seeing the pics, I decide that I am going to drive my 96 LS, instead of my 2006 Camry, for a planned 2k mile trip in the next few days.

By the way, the doors were ripped off by the rescue crew and police that came to the scene of the accident, so the cabin actually held up much better than what it looks like.

Damn !!!!! First off seriously, how's your brother doing? Glad he made it out of that thing alive. Is he feeling the pain? It does look like that interior held up pretty damn good for that kind of impact and roll. After seeing this I don't think I'll ever sell mine. I can't stop looking at these pics, I'm amazed that they made it out alive, thank God.
Now, that car looks like my old '76 AMC Gremlin, there was no back to that car either.
Again, glad your bro is OK.

The guy that was driving the car walked away without a scratch, but he's now held on a 30,000 bail for DWI, auto assault, and all kinds of other charges.

My brothers legs are bruised up from his knees down - he was laying in the seat and his legs got hit with the airbag.

The interior looks a lot more trashed that it was, because the cops ripped off front passenger door to get my brother out, and left rear door to get the driver out (he crawled into the rear after the accident and tried claiming that there was a third person driving the car and he was in the rear seat the whole time). The cops didn't buy his BS.

They also dumped a bunch of debree inside the interior, so it looks badly trashed, but the cabin upfront held up almost perfect. The two front seats didnt sustain any damage.

Man, I can't get this one out of my head. I know the driver was your bro's so called freind but, is he gonna sue him for the amount of the car or did he have insurance to cover this damage and the hospital bills? I can't beleive the idiot said he wasn't driving. The cops aint stupid. It really bugs the hell outta me when people drive drunk. It's usually, they don't get hurt, everyone else does. Glad to hear they busted him for it and I hope they throw the book at him. How are the laws in NY, is it one and done or do they give the drunks more chances? I beleive it should be DWI first time, jail time.

The cops checked toll cameras and did full investigation on the car, so its proven that the other guy was driving. He's gonna be in deep trouble, and my brother lucked out this time, but in all honesty it wasn't smart of him to let someone who was drunk drive the car so late at night.

Yea sometimes ya just don't think, until you get older and wiser.
Hey Och, are you able to take parts off it? IIRC you changed your AFM. If you could grab it, sell it for less then JY price, and are close enough to me, I'd come up and buy it from you. Where in NY are you?
