mark, the LS holds 22.5 gallons of fuel. reset your trip meter everytime u fill up and the next time u fill up see how much gas u put in and divide that by the miles on the trip meter.

Last two full-up was 16 gallons... Local driving is 9.8 MPG, Highway is 16 MPG.

So far the following was done: Purolator Air Filter, Clean throttle body , NGK Spark Plugs (did not change leads), Replaced Valve cover and valve cover gas kit... What else can I do to improve on gas?

valve cover gaskets wont do much.

fuel filter change, injector cleaning, IACV cleaning, upper intake cleaning, engine coolant temp sensor. the list goes on and on.

I'm getting 480miles (770km) on 79 liter = 20.84 Gallon. Which should be 23.03MPG if i'm correct. Lot of highway though, but also some kickdowns and a +120MPH period

Car is a '93 LS400, using 95RON. No maintainance done to ignition yet, hey! i'm still running the original '93 plug wires beyond 230K

Did change the air filter.

change spark plugs/caps/rotors/air filter and add a lucas fuel treatment you could put on every tank or every other tank full.
Check tire pressure to, if you don't have to use the a/c don't use it.
Check you out...

lucas fuel treatment sucks, it's a marginal ucl at best - i'd go for a cleaner that has an appreciable amount of PEA (polyetheramine) such as Techron, Redline SI or Gumout Regane

you can't use that estimate to get any kind of accurate numbers since A-you cant run the tank bone dry and B-you arent counting the gas in the filler tube that you used. you need the actual number of gallons used, which is equal to the number you put into the tank...

yeah and 16.5 gallons? gimme a break, a cressida/supra/avalon's tank is 18.5. the 1st gen LS is at least 20 gallons, i think closer to 21.

I have been getting around 25 mpg with my 99. The last tank I ran the AC. All open highway I expect to get better than that. I have not done anything special other that regular oil changes.

my car does not have a hydrolic fan, is fan clutch and is quite while the car is moving. When i stop and go you can hear it but it will quite up in seconds. So got to change o2 sensors and the car has just 86k miles now. Hummmmm?
