Just got it, cheap because of starter sounding like a garbage disposal.
Anyway I've been wondering why the engineering department at Lexus didn't
figure out a way to put the starter in a specal box above the crankshaft so it would require a total tear down to fix it. Yeah I'm being funny. What a nasty deal to get to. Its the crusty hoses and wires and connectors that make this a slow and laborious job. Also I found a nest of sorts under the lower intake manifold in the valley, lots of nice flamable stuff that a mouse or rat must have packed in there. How many other folks here have found something like that?
Anyway have some questions, I notice the owners manual mentions Dexron for the powersteering and the transmission. So does that mean there is no special Toyota transmission fluid to have to use?
How difficult is the heater core to do on these? I would rather do it now than wait till winter when things like that seem to go bad. Oh it makes a noise when going over bumpy areas on the freeway, on driver side suspension.
This car has about 244,000 on it, anyother things that need attention?
Do these cars have a security system? What are the particulars on that??
Thanks all.
