I just wanted to post up a quick thread saying THANK YOU ALL for this awesome resource. I have recently been looking for a new ride, and found a 1990 LS400 on craigslist. The only thing "wrong" with the car was that the power steering did not work. After doing my homework (again, thank you) it was an easy decision to ignore the lack of power steering and go check it out. It drove amazingly, and everything worked. That alone impressed me as I had driven about 400 mid-90's ES300's in which something was broken. We drove about 5 miles and pulled her over to check the under carriage. I was totally bummed to see transmission fluid dripping on the ground by the left front tire. We returned the car and I made an offer based on the condition of the car. i don't need to go through the whole haggling experience, but I ended up driving her home. Having only been looking at FWD cars it didn't occur to me until I was heading home that the "Transmission Leak" was actually power steering! (yes, i am a bit slow sometimes). So long story shot - $45 hose, 4 hours of my time, and the car runs perfectly! Again, THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
