Agreed Canadian tire might be a validate source to get it inspected but they have absolute morons working there.
For my 98 LS the DRL relay is under the drivers side headlight beside the 2 fan relays . The headlight has to be removed to access it.
Also my "lights on" indicator only comes on when I turn atleast the parking lights on , the DRL's have no indicator .
The main differences of the Canadian spec headlights is all are HID and they have washers . Which adds a diode to activate the washers only when the headlights are on. How do I know , I just blew my diode and it has no part number to order after being on the phone for an hour with Toyota Canada trying to get one.
A simple wiring relay can be made so the car turns on the headlights on full when the car is started and the parking brake is off.
Using those add a DRL kits are dicey as they don;t work that great at 1/2 the voltage all of the time. Better to have it activate your headlights fully on instead.

Also according to Kansas "The U.S. specification 1998 LS400 did not have DRL ... it was added in 1999."
skperformance did you do the DRL on your ls400 by yourself?

Thanks PD. I just checked. Those letters are no where to be found. I also neglected to mention the dealer used my VIN number to come to the conclusion that I don't have HIDs.
Thanks for that!

You can get a relay kit , add it to your fogs instead and use them as day time running lights . You could even make them hid's instead.
Simple as using a hot wire once the car is started and about $250.

Try this

enable by reconnecting those wires if they are cut.

Well having experienced 3 collisions from people turning left in front of me at the last moment, during the day with no headlights of mine on, I figure this is a pretty good law. Had I had headlights on I surely would have avoided at least 1 or 2 of those accidents--perhaps all 3.
