I have searched and not found a link..
My 99 ls400 has something going on with my instrument lights. Happened twice. They do now come on when I first start the car. They do come on after a few seconds and work find the rest of the day. I believe it is just the lights in the panel and instrument needles.
Thanks in advance..

Sorry for my stupidity , but the thread in Lexus for Noobies sticky seemed to be for the first generation. I guess it is also true for mine also. Thanks for the replies..

BTW, having a subject title like that isn't going to help anyone who does look for information about instrument lighting problems.

Your links don't work on my puter.. get: Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
re-read the " instrument-cluster-circuit-board-is-bad-1000-bucks"
and came across this: "( seems to be a problem with every <95 LS 400 )"
and: "Obviously, the LS400 from 1990 to 1998 used this circuit board, they finally fix the problem in 1999 and newer."
So since I have a 99.. has others with 99 and newer have this problem?
Sorry to be so dense..

Have to watch for that PD guy... We're a good bunch and willing to extend help.
It might be time to update some sticky's for common issues now that these cars are aging. We see many tranny, throttle body, PS and bushing threads. Those have existed for some time but more so it is nearly a weekly occurrence to see a new thread on them.
Bottom line is the 1-LS and 2-LS '97 are coming to EOL status. The 98+ if high miles would also fall into that category. 190K+ miles...these issues will be common. If the car was not regularly maintained with fluid changes, it is showing. Enough of the tranny threads of late are due to poor drain intervals and the resulting symptoms of such.
The 1-GS and 1-SC section had similar maintenance discussions last I peeked in.
