brake pad sensor/wire...need a little help.
my brake pad sensor light is on in my cluster, my 95 ls400 has new pads, and rotors all around. so that means i probably broke one of the sensors.
is there a way to bypass this sensor so the light goes off?
or am i forced to buy a new sensor?

Some people have rigged the sensors by connecting the two wires leading to a brake wear sensor or the wires at the sensor itself to complete the circuit and shut off the warning light. Or you could buy a new sensor (front: part # 47770-500301; rear: part # 47771-50060) from http://lexus.sewellparts.com/ with your ClubLexus discount for $45.32 (front) or 53.69 (rear).
If your brake pads last as long as the ones on my 00 LS do, you won't need another sensor or a set of front pads for another 70,000+ miles or rear pads for another 125,000+ miles. One can squeeze a lot of miles out of brake pads on these cars and probably save money overall by letting the pads wear down until the warning light/message comes on.

ok, i found the ucf20 brake diy writeup, there is an image in there that shows the sensor very clearly.
it seems as if my ls400 does not have these sensors on it? im wondering why my light didnt come on until after i did my brake job?

The sensors are only on the right side front and rear brakes. Did you at least find the wires leading to them?

If I was you I would keep the sensor. I just replaced mine after my mechanic broke mine, light is off now. If the car came with it, why not not keep it as original as possible. It's only a few $$$$

Ummm, I'm not familiar with the 2010 LS460s but this discussion is pertaining tot he UFC10-21 models.
But what is wrong with only having one sensor, or were you happy it only had one sensor?
It's simply a warning sensor designed to be replaced with every set of pads. Often, quality OEM replacement pads come with the sensors and do not require you to purchase them separately. if you are buying jobber parts, typically you wont get sensors.

This is the LS400 forum and it is unlikely that any of the information found here will cross over to your LS460.
