transmission slipping 1993 lexus ls 400
Have a 1993 lexus ls 400 .recently went to drive car engine started fine put into D engine just reved wouldnt move inch. flushed transmission fluid & put new transmission fl. & filter . car now able to drive but sometimes when i put into D or R will not move for a second or 2 and then starts driving fine. once driving pretty much drives smoothly when i come to a red light might hesitate again when lights green . Hoping there is an inexpensive solution possible or do i need new trans ? any ideas would be greatly appreciated . im no mechanic but can do basic car services. thanks in advance mandolays

First thing first,, what fluid are you using in the tranny? Secondly,,did you do a full trans flush, or just a drain and fill?? Lexus trans' are VERY sensitive to the type of fluid used in them and the wrong fluid WILL cause problems. The Toyota Type t-IV is what is recomended, although there are a few aftermarket fluids which will work as well. Since you are new here, I will help you a little with the search feature, as this topic has been discussed previously.

I've got a 1995 ls project car with a transmission that does not engage in any gear. I don't have any history on the car other than it was owned by a vietnamese jeweler. I've dropped the pan to drain fluid but am going to look at the solenoids if it's not to difficult to do before doing a complete tranny flush. Any advise on going forward with my troubleshooting. Some history on the car-- I purchased it for $300, has 96,000 miles, just completed timing belt/waterpump replacement along with plugs/wires/rotors/tensioners/
serpentine belt and replaced ECU(car would not start and was diagnosed down to ECU) and car starts up fine now. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

you can find at autozone a cheap product cost around $6 called
Trans-X Slip-Stop Leak-Fix
product number is 402015
This product can be used to improve transmission performance.
for more info. about the product check out this thread
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/...ad.php?t=87708
Am also still till today having few problems with my car' s transmission.
automatic transmission delay in engagement ( 1 2)
i have ordered the product and can't wait to try it.
Actually my transmission problems started after using different type of ATF fluid, i did not tried to flush. Flush may also solve the problem. i always drain and refill.
