I owned a 95 LS and 98 Q45. I you have not driven a Q, than you should before commenting. Each has its own style and uniqueness, I love both of them. However, I sure love the Q; is smooth, powerful & sleek. I have best of both world. I have a Q---LS & and acura legend. everytime I drive each 1 of them I still get the (LOOK)
Acceleration times and fuel economy got improved compare to ur 1995 LS 400.

I have had several LS's and one Q45 (see my cars I have owned) my Q was a 2000 model and really looked sharp and drove good, except for hitting low/high spots, it would bounce and needed front "shocks" and I could not find ANYONE that sold them except the dealers... $2000. so I sold that sucker and went back to LS.. I am a maintaince freak and cant stand having something I cant fix.

I had a '90 Q45 for a while. It was a money pit and very unreliable. I have driven
Z's and Maximas for years with excellent reliability. Stay away from early Qs. Even the
Infinaity Tech on the Infinity site says you can expect to pay $ 2500.00 a year in maintenance expenses. I dont think the Q ever got over the reliability problems of the early years, and left a bad taste in a lot of those early owners. Nissan also made the matter much worse by not recalling the early lst gen Qs, which had badly designed timing chain quides made of plastic, that often went out and destroyed the engine.

I’ve had the Q for a while and none of symptoms you described I've experience. I will say that parts are little more $$$$ pricey but I been able to offset cost buy buying online as I do for the LS. The paint on 98 is flawless, not an inch of rust. On the other hand, the LS has had a little body work. By no means am I pushing the Q as being a better car than the LS. I think that a matter of preference and choice. This is a Lex Forum so you will get more of us leaning towards the LS. But those of you who want to know more about the Q go to Q45 Forum / Cima Forum and you will see different opinions’. In fact, the LS is not that popular in that forum. I’m just glad that I’m able to enjoy both vehicles.

I am both as well as taking apart those cars where underneath the bumpers panels and trim they rust like hell , snapping bolts over and over again.
What cosmetically looks good is not once you open the car up and start taking a look at it. The proof is in the pudding , every single one of the motors burn oil , which to me is not acceptable in this day and age.
