Default trans over heating problem

so recently here in so cal la area we been having a heat wave and when i drive for a good amount of time my trans starts to act funny. it will slip not grab or w/e you want to call it sometimes with will rev and not go into gear for a few a seconds at take off, or it will have trouble shifting into 2nd 3rd and 4th.

any one else encountered problems like this? im pretty sure its the trans over heating idk what to do besides maybe getting a trans cooler? someone help!

sounds more like it has some of the wrong fluid in it...

hmm maybe i had it flushed and changed a little after i bought it it was fine before i did so. but im sure it was toyota atf that was put back in

check between the radiator and the air cond condensor see if there is a build up of junk usually is also go to the 2 dollar car wash and spray down the condensor then only do the radiator spray it from the inside to outside this will take any junk out of the radiator and help cool down the radiatorand trans . I put a TRANS COOLER ON MY 91 LS400 here is So Cal and today it's supposed to 110 degrees or better, I also run Mobil one synthetic trans fluid in the trans I pump it out thru the cooler 4 quarts at a time and refill run it for a few miles and do it until I have changed 12 quarts cost about $60.00 for the fluid.

hmm thanks bill ill try the cleaning but im thinking of going towards the trans cooler
