from time to time my car wont shift into drive after I have placed it into park, I have to pump the break for a minute(the brake feels very tight when I'm doing this) and eventually it will give and I can shift the gears again. Has anyone else had a similar problem and what did it cost to fix it??

Does pushing the park release button fix your issue when it wont shift? There is a switch behind the brake that operates a selionoid in the gear selector area that allows you to shift out of park when you push the brake. When I hit the brake, I can hear that selionoid click in the gear selector. It could be the switch is bad/loose by the brake pedal or the selionoid itself is bad or you have a bad electrical connection on that fuse circuit.
