I have finally got my head unit connected and the unit works OK, including the antenna riser. However, the only speaker working is the driver's side one;
the rest of them are not operating. What do I need to check to fix this problem? Thanks! BTW: I have re-checked all the speaker wires and the
symatic in the new radio installation guide and I am confident that the wires are all hooked up properly.

I would say it is almost certain that the other 3 speakers are shot. I had the same problem with my 1991. If you want to check, remove door panels on driver and passenger front doors and plug in working speaker to the other side. If it works, go out and buy yourself 4 new speakers.

hello...
shortly after purchasing my current LS, three of four door speakers stopped working. After having removed the panels and tested the speaker output, it was determined that new speakers were needed. (this was almost 2 years ago) and haven't had a problem like such, since.
Soo...replace the door speakers (all four).
Goodluck!

I have no idea if they worked before I replaced th head unit. I just bought the car and the old factory head unit was not working. I'm going go take the advise of comments posted to my problem and take off the door panels
for a speaker inspection. Thanks for your help!

As per your help, I checked the speakers and they were bad. Bought 2 today at
Walmart and installed one of them. It works fine. Still have to buy and install one
more. I am not going to replace the working one right now.
