1st Gen - No Radio unless in the hot summer.
I have a 1990 LS400. The radio will not work (most of the time). It acts like there is not power getting to the unit...
It's an intermittent problem as sometimes it will work when the car is hot (as in the Texas Summers).
When it works... it works fine. You press the power button, the antenna raises up and everything works as expected.
When it does not work: You press the power button and nothing works (as in now power).
Thanks in advance for your insight.

My guess is that the headunit is bad. If it has the original headunit still installed in the vehicle, it is probably over 20 years old. Some of the components are not working correctly causing your problem. I say this because when the radio works, everything else is normal. You may have some components in the headunit that have weak solder points, causing them to only make contact once the interior is really hot, causing the metal to expand a bit.
I hope this helps.
