so get smaller wheels, imho 20s are too big for the 1st gen anyways.
you shouldnt be running anything but a 225/35-20 or equivalent OD tire (for 93-94 LS).
you shouldnt be running anything but a 245/30-20(ish) or equivalent OD tire (for 89-92 LS).
if you dont want to run a 30 series, you can use no bigger than a 225/35-20 on a 92 LS before you break the 3% oversize/undersized rule.

20" fits the 1st gen perfectly imo.
but 225/35-20 is too big. You need to go lower to fit the original size. 225/30-20 fits but i got some flat tyre problems because i stretched them on a 9x20 rim. im thinking of getting 245/30-20 which is also on my rear 10" wheels. They can handle more kilos and the LS is a heavy car so that might be the reason for running flat.

I aggree on just saying "get smaller wheels" doesnt help anything. Its just a personal opinion coming out.
But we need to be certain on the tyre size so it doesnt get oversized as puredrifter says.
You have to check on this site: http://www.willtheyfit.com/ and put in the stock numbers. For the 91 it is 205/65-15 and then type in the new tyres you think will fit and then see if they are too big.

anything > or < 3% of the original od is a nono in my books, unless you REALLLY need that stretch lol. (then you have seating/loading problems)
this would be a lot better if the OP had posted his current spec.

couldn't care less about od. so what if your speedometer is off or you rack up a couple extra miles? that's the extent of it.
agreed that there's no way to make a decent recommendation without wheel and suspension specs.

my general rule is 3% for both load rating issues and clearance issues from using too big a tire. not so much for the speedo as that's going to be a constant percentage off as long as the wheels are a reasonably similar size all the way around. a big difference between front and rear or (heavens forbid) side to side will create mass problems with the ABS and TC.

Yeah its more important to have almost the same diameter as the original so you dont have too big tyres that will rub unless you want a ugly high riser look. So with 20" i would say it should be pretty accurate to have it perfect. both for driving and the look.

i'm running 225/35 20's on my 92 LS and love them. Always get compliments. I don't have any rubbing issues at all but it does ride rough on a busted road. I had a friend that ran a 235/35 20 and i believe thats the fattest tire you can sport on the first gen without rubbing issues if your not slammed. The LS is a barge on the road so having the right 20inch wheel setup evens out the proportions imo. Just stay away from ugly cheap chrome wheels that ghettofy your classy Lex

hey Bagyo what suspension are you running and you got some more info on those wheels of yours? width and ET? Are the fenders rolled and pulled?
225/35-20 is 2,78% bigger than stock. 235/35-20 is 3,86% bigger than stock. Thats too much imo. 245/30-20 is only 1,1% bigger than stock.
But that also depends on how low you wanna go etc.

Wassup RollaBoy, yea sad to say but i'm still high riding right now due to being low on funds wack i know. My rims are 20x8.5 +35 offset with 225/35 20's all around. My rear fenders are shaved but the fronts are intact. I just shaved the back for now because i know i wasnt gna have enough funds for a suspension setup just yet due to expensive azz school.
