Are Adus poly bushings too firm for our Lexus? Rear LCA

on stock rims/tires with poly bushings, the ride will be softer then the rubber band tires on 18's+ with stock bushings. the side wall absorbs most of the impact from just about any normal bump. then again the people running 18's + usually drop their car as much as possible(stupid amounts for that mad tyte vip hella flush look yo) and dont have enough suspension travel for it to work to absorb the impact, and turn into a bunch of pansy's if they can feel the potholes they drive over as a result.
I agree completely.

devil's advocate here, but just about everybody that's "mad tyte vip hella flush" is doing it with full tap coilovers which general retain full travel regardless of ride height. it may be limited by the spring rate but it's there.

The main reason is poly bushings tend to squeak, and they don't absorb shock as well. The upside is poly bushings last longer.

i guess you havent seen the guys im talking about. they drop the car so low that they have to use a hole saw and cut a hole in the inner fender well to allow clearance for the upper ball joint as it otherwise hits the unibody on every bump otherwise. that = no travel to me.

the travel is artificially limited to a degree on some radically lowered cars by the UBJ hitting the strut tower, generally that hole solves the problem.

i just used that pic to illustrate how low some of these guys go and that obviously at this point, coilovers or not, you do not have full travel of the suspension. i know you dont care, but alot of people do this and then hate how it rides.

I have the Adus 505's and 583's in the rear and I haven't noticed a significant difference in the ride. The front is a different story. I tried them up front on the UCA's, LCA's and sway bars. It changed the ride significantly and I took them all out and replaced with rubber. The rear doesn't seem to be as affected by the poly's.
i'm just referencing the post for further clarity. What i want to know is what symptoms you had experienced before you changed the bushings in the rear.
thanks.

the clunk isnt your rear end banging. its the arms banging and its transmitting through the subframe to the car. i had the same issue. do the test i stated. jack up the rear and grab the arms. the 505's are in the wheel hub knuckle itself. so changing the arm doesnt fix them. the 583's, 1 is in the knuckle, the other is on the rod going toward the center of the rear end asembly. the 5056 is what you could of replaced instead of buying new carrier arms. they are like $30 each.
read this thread. itll shine some light on your problem.
