My New 1993 LS400, what do you think? 47604
Hey, I am new to this. Just bought my first Lexus and was looking to see what people thought of the purchase?
1993 LS 400
only 47,604 miles on it
pretty mint
Bought it from my grandparents who took took amazing care of it, and never drove it. All maint. records are on it, always taken to the Lexus dealership so all records are there. All the org. window stickers and other paper work is there too. Pretty impecablely clean, smells new still 18 years later. Heated seats, powers steering column, memory seating, power seat belt height adjuster, trac control, the works. Only options it doesnt have is air suspension and the 6 disc CD changer. The car really is smooth and quiet. It's amazing all the features for being a 1993, really feels like a modern car and looks pretty good I think. Anway was just having fun looking around the forums here. Fun to see what people are posting. I just wish there was a good clean way to add a dash GPS to make it modern.

Beauty. I'd like to take it for a drive to compare to my '93 see how far off mine is. Only troubles you should run into would be age-related. Lots of driving left in that baby great find I envy you.

Awesome. Getting it from your grandparents, I'm sure you didn't pay much, if anything, but that car is well worth 6 or 7 grand. What did ya pay? You know it hasn't been beaten on. Within the next year it will need the full timing belt service done. (normally at 60k) Be happy you don't have the air susp. b/c that can be VERY expensive when something breaks. And the CD changer, you don't want that, who wants to go in the trunk to change a disc? You can get real good after market head units. Take good care of it like your grandparents did, make them proud.

you are one lucky grandson.... just keep it up to date and enjoy your jewel... personally I would not worry about the timing belt, 93 has a non interference engine, so no damage will/would be done if it broke... I would run it to 100k...
I bought a 94 model with 238k on it with a broken TB, fixed it and drove it over a year before I updated...
congratulations....

Hey...Yes in doing my resarching before buying from my grandparents I noticed that the 6 disc changer would be located in the trunk, not the glove box like your 97 LS400.

Blessings lexuskim, yes it is a thrill to meet fellow travelers here.... and no I have not tried the 1 year.... up until '08 I went thru them about every 8 months... (had a stroke) now I am slower physically, but I am going thru 4 at the same time, comparing them, I can no longer teach because my thoughts go blank at the wrong time... so I enjoy the Word... I am in the Scofield study Bible, NKJ version, the reformation study Bible english standard version, NIV study bible, and Life application study Bible, new living translation.... , but hay, they are all so good... enjoy yours.... see you at "home"

gotta love minty babied cars
your not missing much on the cd changer, most of them stop working when abit of moisture gets in the trunk
as for putting a nav unit in its relatively easy, and looks fine , but you will loose the factory sub which is pretty weak anyways
