Pillow ball uppers usually allow for camber adjustment for macpherson strut setup cars. The LS has an independent double wishbone setup, so it doesn't really help it in that respect. The pillow-ball upper mount serves to eliminate compliance by replacing the normal rubber bushings with a spherical bearing, but it can also serve to shift the damper travel equilibrium between compression and drop. Basically it means that w/ pillowball you will have better suspension response (more linear) but it will also make the ride harsher/stiffer.
Is it needed? They definitely don't hurt to have. Hope that helps
i want to know the same thing becuase i heard that the bc coilovers are better quality than the megan racing ones meaning they last longer and give you a nice firm ride but i still want some comfort too so which should i go with?

Thank u sir, helped greatly. I think my megan ez's will suffice for my needs
no clue on BC reliability but i'm just about to cross the 2 year mark with my Megan LP Street without a single issue, and they're dailly'd over crappy roads.

Pretty sure Tim at Formula Engineering beats that price with BC's. My kid brother installed BC coilovers on his '98 GS400. That car is S-I-C-K. Great ride on and off track. Website is www.formulaengineering.com.
