So I need a new AFM, have for a while now. I checked it with a meter and it's way out of spec, not even close. No code ever came up until it's unplugged. I can grab one from the J/Y but I got a question first. Can I get just the electrical sensor on top or do I need the whole setup? Are they the same 90 - 94?

Anyone got an answer? I'm going to the JY this weekend for a few items and maybe get the AFM. (Air Flow Meter)
Can I get just the electrical sensor on top or do I need the whole setup? Are they the same 90 - 94? The car at JY is a 90 and mine is 93.

Agree w/ python - same part number for 1990-1994 cars (22250-50010) is for the entire AFM assembly. There is no part listing for just the sensor separate from the body. There is a lot of really fine measurement taking place in there. I would guess that tolerances are pretty important. I’m surprised that AFM’s don’t give more trouble than they seem to. I once had a shop tell me that replacing the air flow meter (to the tune of $800) on my 1990 was part of the 60k mile service. I didn’t see it listed in the owner’s manual so I declined. I'll be interested to hear your conclusion on whether you can swap sensors out of the AFM or must replace the whole assembly.
