The XVL concept will have a coupe version. I sure hope the rumor is true that Infiniti IS testing out the 400hp Q because Ive heard its not froma good source. But every other person seems to be pointing o the way that it is. Did Infiniti reps or Infiniti salesman tell you? If it were salesman than thers a possibility of it NOT being true. If it were a rep than id have to say Im happy. BTW, did you hear anything about a manual tranny for it? 5 speed or 6 speed? I sure hope Infiniti/Nissan gets smart and adds at least a 5 speed manual. If they do, than I dont see anything toping this car. Not even the M5 (the Q already weighs 200lbs less than a 5 series).

BTW, I read in MT or in C/D that Lexus is saving more power (they specifically said the 300hp mark) for the next gen LS. Im sure they could always add more power in mid cycle but thats what I read in a mag. But Im not so sure Lexus would want to make a sport version since they dont seem to be targeting the same crowd. We'll see.

Thumbs up

DROD, yes the word from the reps at the test event were all talking about the 400hp model. One stated that the tranny was not holding the power and was one of the delays. All agreed on the end of the year We will have to wait and see. I would guess that it should be around as quick as an M5. I DO NOT expect a manual tranny model.

BTW, the Indy driver said that he was involved in testing and they had un-governed 340hp models. He said they were running over 170mph and the tire manufacture engineers were flipping out because the tires aren't rated for 4000lbs at 170+mph. Pretty cool. Assuming this is accurate (was told by the Indy driver during hot laps not by the Infiniti rep in the promo tent) that would equate resonably well to the 340hp claimed. The Infiniti rep said "you may have seen the brochure saying 340hp, this is not a typo, this car is a rocket"
