burning oil and bad mileage
Hey guys, I've got a 92 ls400 and in the last month I've notice a decrease in gas mileage plus slight loss of oil. then around two weeks ago I started smelling oil while running. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets they have had a small leak on the plugs but I didn't think it would get this bad so fast. could this be my problem or is it something else.

if your valve cover gaskets are leaking, then they are leaking onto the exhaust manifolds, thats why you smell burning oil. get them fixed asap. last thing you want is the oil leaking on the manifolds to catch fire. as for gas mileage, could be lots of different things. o2 sensors, plugs, wires, engine coolant temp sensor, dirty air filter, ecu itself, etc...
