Telescopic Steering Column Question
#16
Yep! I found them while I had the covers off the other day. I'll go back in and turn them off. My telescoping motor no longer works as of this week). Thankfully, it's at the fully extended position. I guess my only other concern is that unplugging them would adversely affect the memory seats / mirrors, as my wife occassionally drives the car too. I suppose I'll find out soon.
Thanks for the tip!! Micah

What year is your Lexus? If yours is a snd generation and better yet, a 97, I am going to try unplugging my connectors as well. I am guessing it was a pretty simple process.

My LS is a 1999 model. The plug-ins were very easy to get to with the bottom steering column cover removed. I simply unplugged them and left them hanging. So far there are no rattles from leaving the plugs hanging.

Thanks everyone for the info. It looks like simply taking a couple of screws out of the steering wheel housing and unplugging the wires responsible for the tilt and extend features is the way to go.
