MERCEDES S-CLASS vs LEXUS LS430

If it's an LS430 with the Ultra Luxury Package vs an S430, give me the Lexus in a second. If it's a base model LS430 vs. an S55AMG, I'd go with the Benz. But since an LS430 Ultra is less than a stripped down S class, I'll go with the Lexus.
Interesting site, I'm sure it's been mentioned before:
LS430 Ultra vs. Bentley Arnage, MB S600, Rolls Royce, Jaguar XJ Supercharged, Audi A8, http://www.finestsedan.com

As for me I'll choose LS.
Actually I'm not agree about Toyota's "copycat" behaviour. They didn't copy MB - they just modified domestic model Toyota Crown. In Russia I had 1988 Toyota Crown. I can tell you - it's Lexus but it's slightly different. Same smoothness and reliability but different engine thought. And Toyota Crown/Celsior are 20+ years old as a model.
Japanese domestic cars are way better in equipment than european ones.

I agree Toyota/LEXUS are the most reliable cars in the world. There are some that do break down, but when its time for parts, etc they don't cost as much as MB, BMW, JAG and so on... It costs about $200 just to get a regular oil change @ MB..

After driving my brother's BMW 740iL and my sister's S500, I think LS430 is better in term of reliability, pricing and cost of maintainance. A friend of mine who works at a BMW dealer said that, in average, if the LS owner has to bring his car to service one, the 7 series BMW owner has to do it twice and the MB S owner has to do it 3.5 times. My next car will definitely be the black LS430 with nav.

When it comes down to the LS430 "fully loaded" and a S500 "fully loaded" with money being no object I would take the MERC every time. Personnaly money is a object and I believe get the best for your money, and lexus offers the best for the money. The only company that comes close is ACURA. My friend has a E320 "99" white on tan just like my "99" GS300. I payed alot less for my and the first thing he said when he saw my lex was "Man I should have bought a lexus."

I agree. In Europe the S-class and 7 series are everywhere. But quite a few Lexus running around over there.

Yeah, I went to London and Paris last week and every time I see one Lexus it's make me glad. I've seen some nice 1st gen GS, IS200, couple of RX and some 1st gen LS in mint condition. I bet your car is standout overthere and a lot of people looking at your car.
