Default A/C

The most common problem is the drive cable having come off the hot water metering valve. The "blend door" servomotor is inside teh system under the dash but along with operating the blend door it has a cable which extends through the firewall and actuates teh water valve.

The water valve is mounted on the firewall near the top center at the rear of the engine with a water hose going in and another out.

If you move the temperature setpoint between 65F (max cold) and 85F (max heat) the cable should move the water valve from closed to open and vice versa.

Default fans

If I remember this right only one fan runs if the engine coolant is "threatening" to overheat and the second one will come on in that case only if the A/C is running. Otherwise check the fuses

Wwest.I checked the heater valve. It was working alright. Can the fans not working and the Ac suddenly not very cold be related to each other. Now a Strange thing. While I was checking the relays and fuses under the dash on the drivers side,I happened to push up on the plastic cover to get a better look. When I did that the fans started to run, just for a second.I could not get it to repeat. It is forty miles to my lexus dealer through some of the worst traffic in the country.I shur would like to fix it with some help. Thanks Michael Rybikowsky

Default again

If the front outside radiator cooling fans do not work and the engine water jacket is therefore slightly overheating then the A/C system will be disabled. But didn't you tell me that teh A/C compressor ran?

With the symtoms you relate you may have a fuse or a connection not tight enough, I would remove and replace all of the fuses (same fuse) just to be sure there are well seated.
