more service tidbits
OK, so I finally had my tranny reflushed properly with real toyota type 4 fluid. If anyone recalls, the place I took it to before put dexron in there, and when I requested to have toyota only they just drained the dexron and put toyota in. So it was like 3/4 toyota and 1/4 dexron. tsk tsk. I specifically requested a full flush from those guys and they only did a drain and refill.
I thought they were a little more honest than that..I also requested a new filter, and they charged me the price for one and only cleaned the old one.
ANYWAY so off to MK Auto on artesia. This guy has like tons of toyota and lexus service certificates. Pretty nice. I think I'll stick with this guy for a while.
I told hm what I wanted and explained the problems I was having and tok a test drive. That accleration hesitation he thinks is either the MAF sensor, the throttle body/position sensor or the somethin else..forgot.
He hooked up the computer and did all the diagnostics (that was cool to watch- the car does funny stuff on it's own) and everything came back ok. The voltage on the throttle position sensor came back good - no pressure on the gas pedal = 0 Volts and 8 Volts = full throttle. He also recommended replacing the rear bushings on the wheels and shocks (which are coming) and the serpentine belt.
Also I supplied the oil filter and he did a change for free. (Thanks!) So on to the test drive..the car felt a *little* more responsive and the smoothness in driving and shifting was improved quite a bit.
Now I'm just waiting for to get my RAAM mat before I put my seats back together. =) =)
