Misfire only when car gets up to temp
#19
What scanner do advance auto use? From all scanners i know they will give you a code and description, the cheapest code scanner will only show the code. I have yet to see a scanner that give a description without the code. Go back to advance auto with a pen and paper, scroll down on the scanner a write all codes then come back here with codes. You can go to autozone instead.
Crank/cam position sensor if they dont send a good pulse to the ECM they will cause a misfire, go thru your connectors and make sure you have a good connection

I just got my UCF20 running right so far I've replaced:
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug wires
Ignition Coils
Caps
Rotors
Water Pump
Fan Clutch bracket
Front Main
Timing Belt
Serpentine Belt
The car starts up and idles fine for a few mins and then out of nowhere misfire.... I don't understand it!
Could it be water temp sensor related or something? I get a check engine light that blinks when it starts to miss.
My car is misfiring on cylinder 6 and 8 but they both have spark, so I dunno what the f*** is going on! I can't figure it out, it barely drives, has loss of power. Its smoking terribly.

Well, the last time I hooked it up to a scanner it only read misfire 2/4/6/8 nothing other, no codes or anything like that. So, I'll try again, my car is on jackstands at the moment, as I'm installing my hydro ebrake..

From the firing order(all misfire are from one bank) looks like your bank 2 is out(pass side) Check your connection from distributor to the spark plug, i will just unhook everything and hook them up one by one.

Okay they are few cause of misfire and i will list them
1. Powertrain or Engine Control Module faulty (This may also be caused by crank or cam positioning sensor, if you did timing belt recent you may be off a little, or the sensor connector are loose. The ECM uses the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor to monitor changes in the crankshaft rotation for each cylinder. So if is a timing problem then bank 2 will be off. I assume you did not get code P0300 -multiple misfire, and you only get P0302, P0304, P0306, and P0308 which means the misfire appear at different times and not at the same time then i will suspect timing issue)
2. Fuel injector(s) faulty (you didn't touch them so i will rule them out)
3. Ignition system - Ignition module, coil, spark plugs and wires(i will just redo bank 2 just to rule them out)
4. Fuel system(probably)
Also check you vacuum lines make sure they are routed correctly.
