I retorqued the valve cover bolts to just snug, about 5 ft lbs of torque. I didn't have a proper torque wrench for the job, maybe I think about getting one soon. Anyway valve covers are fine. I got it all put back together and started it up. Fine. The only thing was from dash it was throwing me a "check VSC" light. I thought WTF. I checked a few connections and finally ended up cleaning up my battery terminals with brush and baking soda. Hooked the battery back up and tried it again. Lucky no VSC light. So I think I am done with the job now.
Thanks for all the advice everyone.
I will try to put up more info about the job some time. Not sure how soon. Also since I have changed timing belt and accessories and changed my camshaft oil seals on a 98 ls400, I be happy to pass on the knowledge to anyone interested.

Also, when you get the new belt and are ready to install, make sure you do not let the new belt get any oil, antifreeze or other contaminants on it. Make sure the floor(in case you accidentally drop it), hands and everything on the engine is very clean. Not surgical room clean but fairly clean and dry.
Do I just use degreaser? Any specific brand? Or another product? Thanks!
