Seatbelts
So I have not found the discussion on sagging seat belts helpful up to this point (ie I've searched). Basically it boils down to "if it sags replace them, but you can only get them in gray". I would happen to agree if we could all go down and buy new belts, but it doesn't appear that tan is an option. They are also awfully expensive.
The belts in my 1996 (130k miles) have some ability to retract once you unbuckle them so it seems I have an issue with the tension reducer. Has anyone seen a vendor willing rebuild these? They are not the most complicated devices and I imagine that they could be safely rebuilt with the right tools and knowledge.
I really don't want to go the junkyard route but it's starting to look that way. I think if you test the belt out you would be fine, BTW: it's pretty obvious if the belt has been in a crash once you pull it out so you don't really have to worry about getting a faulty one. It is rather easy to test the belts once removed for proper function. The manual outlines a handful of simple tests.
