is it a 93ls4 supposed to have 4 piston calipers? , the one i bought appears to only have 2 piston calipers.. is that normal?

Yes, the first generation LS400 has two piston front calipers. The calipers grew slightly in size from 89-92 to the 93-94 model years. Lexus started using the four piston calipers on the 1995-2000 LS400. You can put the later LS calipers on your 93 if you change the lower ball joints. You will need the calipers, pads, shims, brake hardware, rotors, lower ball joints and caliper mounting bolts to make the swap. Also, you will need to have wheels that clear the larger calipers. I just did this modification to my 93 LS400 and it was well worth it. I am using wheels from a 2000 LS400 Platinum Edition with the machined faces and the car looks great!

damnit.. haha our 90 has 1 piston calipers so they went 1 to 2 and 2 to 4? thanks for all the help
