1995 LS400 with 153,000 miles Transmission Shift Lag
Hello,
I have a 1995 LS400 with 153,000 miles. The transmission lags for maybe 4-5 seconds when shifting from Park to Drive and then it engages. However when driving the transmission doesnt lag only when shifting from Park to Drive.
What could the problem be? Anyone have the same problem?
Reverse works perfect no lag at all.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I checked the fluid looks good and its not low.
The problem is in the morning when the car is cold. Once the car is warm its fine.
Also when on the highway if you let off the gas and then press the accelerator again you can hear a clunk.
Transmission doesnt slip and shifts fine but it almost sounds like a bad u-joint?
