When I had my strut bars replaced, the mechanic called me to say that he had the exact same issue as you're having. He couldn't get the caster bolts out as they were both seized inside the sleeve. He said he tried PB Blaster, tons of heat, and an impact wrench to no avail. I bought the bolts at Sewell, and they were at my house in a few days. Took them to the mechanic and he cut the old ones out and installed the new ones. I think they were $30 something including shipping for both.

I have the old strut bars sitting in the garage. They are rusty on the inside of the sleeve, and I believe the mechanic when he said they were frozen (though I had my doubts when he was explaining the issue to me).

Maybe that's what kills the bushings so much is that bolt seized in there and it can't move at all. All this technology and over engineering, they should have a better system there.

doubtful since none of the LS' here in SoCal i've seen have a problem with rusted strut rod bolts.
