Start with the easy stuff...bad gas? Was your gas tank really low when this happened..could be junk from the tank?

it's magic.

seriously, you give us nothing more than "it sputtered, went slow, then died" don't do any troubleshooting and expect us to be able to tell you what happened?

go check out the ignition/fuel system and figure out if you lost gas, spark, or air.

Hard to tell with the info we got but my car did this a couple different times. Once it was, eh, just the fuel filter clogged. The other time,.....the timing belt jumped. So it could be just a $20 fuel filter, or it could be $500 in parts for a T-belt/water pump job. Ya need to diagnose it a little bit to find out if ya have spark and/or fuel getting to each cylinder. Even though the CEL isn't lit you should check for codes anyway incase any are stored in there. I would check for spark first then go from there. Does it idle and then die when you give it gas or does it just not run at all?
