Default gas octane on Ls400

I was at the shell gas station and it was 2 Ls400's, and I noticed that they were putting REGULAR 87 octane gas into their car!!! It bothered me for some reason...I've always been putting in Premium in my LS400 and I always will...it lasts longer and burns slower!! I was wondering which kinda Gas do yall use and why????

In california the best is 91 octane. Personally I only go to shell, mobile, or chevron.

I tried the cheaper gas to just run a test, and the car burned it off really fast. I was at the pump more often.
I switched to 91 octane and it ran better and burned slower, so a lot less time at the gas pump.

I fill up between 1/2 &3/4 Full. In Ga we have 93 Octane. Every other tank I put 93 then mid grade 89 octane= about 91 between the two. Trips all ways 93.

Not another octane thread. I just did a search on "octane" and just the LS400 section has 6 pages (127 threads) on octane. That will be plenty of opinions to read on what to use. That's why people are told to SEARCH.

Had planed to go for a month. Have to have some surgery on the 10th. Not sure time frame for recovery. Still leaving it as possible per Dr. Son lives only 2 miles from Hennessy so have a place to recoop if needed.
