Hey,
I looked at my bushing earlier today, and I saw that the rubber is almost completely gone, and I'm noticing a "wobbling" type shaking every time I brake and bring the car to a complete stop. I have a UFC20.
Any ideas where I can find the bushing by themselves?
I just called the dealer, and they said they only sell the complete arm, w/ the new bushing in it, and my shops price was about 160, while list price is somewhere 210, and I am not about to pay that much for a simple fix...

I just replaced the strut bushings on a 1998 LS400 (with Poly). I haven't driven much yet, but initial testing does show harsher ride over potholes, etc, and a harsher sound.

One thing I found during the replacement work though, was that the bolts holding the (old) bushings were somewhat looser than spec (121 lb-ft), especially on the right side. It's simple to re-torque these 22mm nuts (after removing the undercover) and I think these should be checked first. My most obvious symptom was a lot of creaking sound while turning sharply at low speed - primarily in parking lots. In retrospect, I think a simple tightening would have curtailed a lot of that creaking.

(I posted this on another Lexus site also)

Many owners have complained about poly bushes in the front. When I do mine I am going to use the Roca urethane for the front lower arms and use oem upper arms. You can buy OEM strut rod bushes from the dealer.

The Adus kit is what I will most likely use for the rear.

ADUS are aftermarket, and are polyurethane.

Poly bushings do not work very well in place of the OEM strut rod bushings due to the way they are loaded up. I avoid them.

Default Avoid Adus strut rod bushings

As I posted, I installed Adus Poly bushings, and that was a mistake. Much too harsh. I bought a set of Roca bushings from Megan Racing, but haven't installed them yet. Unlike the Adus, they are very similar to the OEM bushings in design, and will hopefully be as smooth and quiet as the stock bushings.

the OEM bushings are like $35-40/each. the adus are about the same price. unless you're building a race car there's no benefit to them.

Hmmmm, not sure where in CA you are but I just got a set yesterday from Lexus of Carlsbad and they were $62 each. Whole bar with new bushings were $153 each so even with paying a shop $10 each for the press - it's still cheaper. I'll take $150 over $300-plus anyday

Did my strut bars this wknd as part of the coil-over install. I got the rubber bushings from a local Lexus dealer and had them pressed in/out at a legit shop. Tabs were correct, torque was correct and this morning rolling out from the driveway...same clunk.

then either:
a-you didn't torque the bushing end AFTER you lowered the car to the ground
and/or
b-it wasn't just the strut rods clunking...
