Temp gauge broken - where to find replacement?
94 Lexus LS400
Wow. I found a thread on how to repair the broken back lighting. I did that repair. It worked fine. Unfortunately, I decided to do a preventative on the needles too and in the process - or maybe when the gauges were just laying around waiting to be installed, one got broken. The whole needle just dangles and a small plastic ring is split.
Where can I find a used gauge? New ones are $400 !!!
ALSO:
Maybe I'm an idiot, but I find searching these forums very difficult. There are no subject trees to narrow down threads and searches often produce 500 threads or more. I am not even sure how I am going to be able to find this thread again when I come back tonight.
Or am I just missing something here?

I'm sure you can find one at a junkyard in your area or you can try http://www.car-part.com/ for "gauge (misc)" and if there isn't any you can fill out the form and it's sent to many, many JYs in the country.
For the search feature, yes you are missing something. Click on the word search in the red box at the top of page without putting anything in the box. That will bring you to "advanced search" and with that you can search whatever section of the forum that you want.

For all us mods, having the FAQ set-up to help in getting you the answers as directly possible is a goal. There is discussion of the instrument cluster in this FAQ:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...fo-thread.html
If the content or your specific issue has not been discussed in depth, there may be very little information available. Usually you won't be the only one that has encountered the issue. Wading trough countless threads can be challenging.
