Rotor questions?
Getting ready to change brake pads front and rear on my 99 LS400 with 90,000 mile, this will be my first time doing brake i will follow instruction from the DIY sections. The question i wanted to ask is do i need to do anything to the Rotor? When does one replace these rotor? Or. When does one resurface these? TIA

personally i tend to have the rotors resurfaced whenever it's been a long time (>20-30k miles) since the last time as it makes it a lot easier to bed the new pads in that way. at the very least take a green scotchbrite pad to the rotor to clear the surface up to give the new pad something to bite into.
rotors are replaced whenever their minimum thickness makes resurfacing (cutting on a lathe) unsafe.

If this saw the 60K service and the pads replaced and rotors surfaced, the rotors would benefit from a resurfacing now. For me, the front stock pad compound is good for ~60K miles give take a bit based on braking habits. The original rears lasted in ours just a bit short of 110K. At that stage, is was easier to have front and rears serviced.
