Default Who can make a key to my LS400 95

Bought a 95 lexus LS400. Had 2 keys, main key and the valet key, which does not open trunk or gas tank door. Lost main key. Cn anyone make it or do I go to the dealer? And how much? It is just a key, not a keyless entry one

i you don't have ANY master keys left, you can have a dealer cut you a new one with you VIN and registration, but you're stuck paying dealer price for a key.

I would contact sewell lexus, they're a forum sponsor and are probably going to be the most reasonable.

ACE hardware ow makes keys. Check there before you go to the dealer.

ACE doesn't have access to the toyota key system, and the few that can cut lexus keys can only duplicate existing ones.

After having gone to Home Depot, ACE, Menards, etc, only to be disappointed each time, there is only one man capable of replicating such keys...

Wha-hahaha

Hit up the Toyota/Lexus shop. You know they have the blanks and the machine to do it right. With gas costs, unless the Toyota/Lexus shop is wayy far away it makes it a one stop deal. No master, out of luck unless you can get the guy to fudge the master ridge on the key. This is more critical for those with the transpoder key when you need to program new keys.

Found my old post, this is the difference of master and valet keys.

Lol awesome movie.

I have a little locksmith place near my house that will replicate lexus keys for $10/each if you bring them blanks. (not including programming)

Have had 4-5 keys made there without issue (using Denso branded ebay blanks/shells)

I didn't think that the '95/'96 OEM Lexus keys were that expensive... I could be wrong.

Since you don't need the transponder key, that auction site sells them ~$10 each. Local would be about $15-$20.

and lexus would still be $70+.

I bought a couple spare remote masters on ebay (non-remote) for ~$10-13/each and they work fine . Good to set up as masters to keep in the house/safety deposit box in case you lose your every day key, so you don't have to take the car to Lexus to have them program you a new master.
